it tells you the inside explanations of well-known, famous fashion brands & how they got their unique names. some examples...

- ASOS - was originally called "as seen on screen", but legally switched the brand name to ASOS because the customers & followers of the clothing lines frequently abbreviated the brand name to "ASOS".
- alice + olivia - the fashion line was created by two former classmates at a university in 2002, who decided to name their brand after their mothers names, alice & olivia.
- (& my person favorite) - BCBG - max azria named his brand for the phrase, "bon chic, bon genre," which means "good style, good attitude." this title was intended to embody european sophistication & american spirit.

okay people. big news. i have found the best burger joint in town. i went to "hops burger bar" in greensboro last saturday night with my parents & my life has not been the same since. to be honest, i am not a huge burger fan, so i was fairly tentative to try this place. however, i can sternly say that i have never tasted better wings, fries & most importantly burgers thus far in my life. the restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall type of place, but was incredibly crowded when we ventured in last weekend. with an hour and a half wait, the three of us decided to stick it out & grabs a seat at the bar to wait in the energetic & unique atmosphere. one beer turned into two & appetizers were ordered. i love spicy food, so i chose the buffalo wings... best. buffalo. sauce. ever. & we also went with some parmesan fries. the beer list (along with mixed drinks) is extensive & local, adding more draw to this place. once we were seated, we ordered our next course: burgers. i chose the "diablo" which consisted of guacamole, jalapeños, pepper jack cheese & then the usual burger fixings. once i had my first bite, i was in awe & i was hooked. my parents & i all completely finished our burgers (& more fries), all with goofy grins plastered to our faces, in complete bliss. so, moral of this short rant, is that everyone & anyone should go to hops burger bar. they have turkey burgers, chicken patties, & various veggie burger options as well. here is the link below to their website & be sure to check out their menu! you will not be disappointed! http://www.hopsburgerbar.com/

this time last year, i had the privilege of attending oktoberfest in munich, germany. while i was studying abroad in florence, italy last fall, i was fortunate enough to travel to many different cities & countries. however, i must say that weekend i spent in munich was one for the books & an experience like nothing i have encountered before. i spent the weekend exploring the beautifully unique city & of course, attending the oktoberfest festivals. time sure does fly by & i wish i had the ability to relive my time in munich. maybe i will be lucky enough to venture back to oktoberfest in the future? wishful thinking!

happy autumn! october is breast cancer awareness month! each year, this month can be viewed as way to boost awareness of the awful disease & increase campaigning & proceeds to work towards a cure! my sorority on campus, zeta tau alpha's philanthropy is breast cancer education & awareness. so, each october, we have a week that we call "think pink week" in which we host and support various events in hope to raise money & awareness of breast cancer. if you are on campus, keep an eye out for events that the zetas will be hosting and promoting! also, click on the link below that will take you to the national breast cancer awareness site to learn more about how to help the cause!
